The prerequisites for this course are listed below in the Training Track. Connection Practice Coaches need biofeedback software to teach heart-brain coherence (listed for purchase below under Learning Tools).
Upon registration, materials are provided that outline the necessary steps to prepare for the course. We put a high value on emotional safety in our courses, and this one is no exception. We are aware that assessments can be anxiety-producing for many people. Please know that we are here to support your learning process with care and connection. There is a significant amount of preparation needed for this course. We want to support you, and we also want you to be well-prepared.
This engaging and interactive course is delivered live online over two days, with time to practice in between. It includes demonstrations, practice sessions, and assessments to ensure you learn how to coach effectively and gain confidence and proficiency. After the course, you will have a final interview with the Trainers who offered your course. They will certify those who demonstrate competency. Those who need significant practice will be mentored and reassessed (additional fees apply).
Certification enables you to:
- Provide Coaching Sessions: Offer transformative sessions to individuals, couples, and families, helping them navigate challenges and draw closer to one another.
- Facilitate Connection Circles: Create an emotionally-safe environment where individuals can share, learn, and grow together in their ability to connect authentically.
Who Should Attend?
Course Outline
Day 1: Coaching the Connection Practice and Hands-on Practice
Rita Marie will role-play how to teach the Connection Practice to a client using a PowerPoint coaching deck of slides. She will follow this instruction with a coaching demonstration using the Connection Practice Boards. Afterwards, you will practice coaching with a partner and receive feedback. Rita Marie will also demonstrate freeform coaching, which is coaching without any Boards or Feelings and Needs Lists.
Day 2: Assessment of Teaching and Coaching the Connection Practice
You will demonstrate an online, coaching session, which includes teaching the slides to a partner and coaching them through an issue with another person. You will also demonstrate your freeform coaching skill. An experienced Connection Practice Trainer will assess you.

These prerequisites will prepare you for the Coach Certification Course so that you will become an effective, compassionate, and professional coach.
Inner Wellness for Success Course
In this core course, you will experience the power of the Connection Practice and gain a comprehensive understanding of its essence, benefits, and applications.

Mentoring
You will be assigned a mentor who will assess your readiness for the Coach Certification Course. Upon completion of mentoring, they will either recommend you for the course or suggest further learning.

Connection Practice Professional Membership
Upon certification, new coaches receive one year of Professional Membership with Rasur Foundation International, joining a supportive, inspiring community of coaches and trainers. Membership includes:

Connection Practice Trainer Certification
After becoming a Coach, if you want to teach Inner Wellness for Success and Emotionally-Safe Relationships courses, you can register for a Trainer Certification Course ($997). Meet the instructor
Rita Marie Johnson
Educator, author, and award-winning innovator, Rita Marie Johnson has been sharing her wellness skill worldwide for over 20 years. In 2024, she was named 1 of 10 Most Promising Women in Healthcare and Wellness by Global Healthcare Magazine.
She discovered a synergy between empathy and insight that maximizes social-emotional intelligence, eliminates unnecessary suffering and leads to life enriching choices. This epiphany resulted in the Connection Practice, which transforms confusion into clarity and conflict into connection for people of all ages and all walks of life.
Rita Marie’s implementation of the Connection Practice in Costa Rican schools earned her the Ashoka Changemakers Innovation Award: Building a More Ethical Society, chosen from 79 projects in 32 countries. She has certified over 300 Connection Practice Coaches and Trainers, who have taught it to over 100,000 individuals in more than 20 countries. Her book Completely Connected: Uniting Our Empathy and Insight for Extraordinary Results won a Nautilus Award in the Psychology category of Better Books for a Better World and is an Amazon bestseller.
Rita Marie taught the Connection Practice for credit at the United Nations University for Peace, a graduate school for international leaders. In addition, she brought the Connection Practice to professionals at Stanford, Harvard and Minerva Universities.
A seminar leader and keynote speaker, Rita Marie has presented in the USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Europe and Central America, Some highlights include:

In 2006, Rita Marie and her nonprofit, Rasur Foundation International, initiated a bill in Costa Rica’s Legislative Assembly to establish a Ministry for Peace. It passed in 2009. Now this Ministry for Peace serves as a model for other countries to replicate.
Johnson is an Instructor in Executive Education and an Advisory Board Member for the University of California Santa Barbara Extension, Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE), Women in Leadership Certificate Program.
