Create a More Harmonious School Environment for Greater Academic Success
The Connection Practice Curriculum Course is for educators and school counselors who want to work with groups of children or bring the Connection Practice to a school. After taking it, you will be qualified as a Connection Practice Children and Youth Instructor (CYI). This six-lesson Curriculum aligns with American School Counselor Standards, increases harmony in classrooms and supports students’ academic success.
The Connection Practice Curriculum creates connection among the students and between the students and the teacher by combining empathy and insight to resolve challenges. After students have learned the six lessons in the Curriculum, integrating this practice into the school day takes about 15 minutes. Providing regular access to the Connection Practice improves student behavior, prepares them for learning, inspires cooperation and empowers students to resolve conflicts on their own.
Educators, counselors, and youth advocates are increasingly encountering at-risk children with insufficient support systems. Issues like bullying, shootings, suicides, and addictions point to a lack of connection. The Connection Practice addresses this by meeting the student’s needs to be heard and belong, as well as enhancing social-emotional intelligence. The tactile advantage of Connection Practice Boards, which serve as visual aids to identify feelings and needs, encourages and facilitates student engagement. More than 50,000 children have learned this practice, with teachers introducing it to new students annually.
The Connection Practice Boards are highly efficient, so counselors can help more troubled youth faster. After individual sessions, students can learn to use the Connection Practice independently, freeing counselors to assist more youth.
